Constellation Men’s Ensemble commissioned this composition for its concert “NOVA VIII: chicago seasons.” A pair of Carl Sandburg poems present two vivid images — a lonely ship in the fog (a metaphor of longing for companship, I think) followed by an exuberant dancer twirling a red scarf amid green trees (an ode to summertime joy). So the music is sad and rolling in the first piece, full of life in the second. Come and hear these terrific tenors and basses bring this work to life. June 6 is a ticketed dress rehearsal. June 7 & 8 are open air. More info via this link: https://www.constellationensemble.org/home/season/nova/
