Voluntary on “Nettleton” at National Shrine

Concert organist John J. “JJ” Mitchell will play a recital at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, D.C.  His program in the Great Upper Church includes Voluntary on “Nettleton,” found in the newly-published Mansions in the Skies.  Often sung as “Come, O Fount of Every Blessing,” Nettleton is an American folk hymn, like all the tunes in this collection from The Sacred Music Press.  JJ Mitchell is a church musician and teacher who recently won third prize in the American Guild of Organists national improvisation competition.  This recital is free and open to the public.
